BEWARE! Unsafe bikes. Breaks don't release, rust everywhere, chain falling off. Irresponsible merchant. Not 4.3 stars, anyone can go on and give themselves reviews! Remember that!
The bikes we rented were a good price but there were multiple problems at the cash register and checkout was lengthy. The bikes themselves were a bit rusty.
We ordered 2 fat tire bikes and I let them know we needed them delivered to Twiddy so we could ride them to our house. They assured me they would call when delivering them so we went next door to get a drink. 90 minutes later I called asking why our bikes weren't there yet. I made it clear we needed to bikes to leave and they assured me they were out for delivery. 15 minutes later I got fed up and went over to Twiddy just to check - turns out they were delivered an hour earlier and no one ever called me. They also locked them together but didn't give me the code so I had to call again just to unlock them. One got a flat and we asked them to come up the 4x4 beach to get it (since the bikes were our transportation) and they would only do it if we would pay $75 for them to come up.
They set up chairs and umbrellas on time and with a smile. Equipment was in good shape too.
My husband and I took a week long vacation, with extended family and our 12 year old daughter who has cerebral palsy and uses a power wheelchair to get around, to get married. We worked hard to make sure our trip was as accessible as possible for her ahead of time, to lessen stress once we were there. We booked a beach wheelchair for the week... $180.00 for your child to access a public beach that is free for everyone else is already ridiculous.... but this chair was disgusting. The seat was old, filthy and falling apart. The frame was wobbly and had obviously either been a DIY or fixed multiple times DIY ( not safe) because a) it's obviously white PVC pipe and B) covered and stained with dried glue. Attempting to turn the chair with her in it has not only extremely difficult, but felt like the chair would fall apart at any minute. The padding on the seat was so old and crumbling that the PVC was exposed to her skin causing pain because..... hello!!! she cannot sit on her own and needed that padding to support her. We were forced to purchase pillow to place behind her back and bottom which were thrown out at the end of the week since they were destroyed by salt water, sand, and the chair itself. The seat belt was not the 5 point harness pictured.... it was a broken lap belt TIED to the sided of the frame. TIED! the clip was broken too. The tires weren't even filled correctly completely uneven making pushing the chair a frustrating event. The chair was NOTHING like the picture. This company may provide quality products for things you don't actually need like boogie boards and lounge chairs, but it's clear they're part of the same racket as any other company claiming to provide services to people with disabilties..... you need it, so you'll take what you get and pay whatever we tell you, what else are you going to do? Rent a house on the ocean and not allow your child to actually go?!
I gave 2 stars because ordering was easy and the chair was at our rental house when we got there, and it was nice that we didn't have to worry about dropping it off. Other than that, I am sick of the treatment of disabled people, and the high cost of being/raising people with disabilities. Just For The Beach needs to correct their site and post pictures of the crap product that their actually supplying.
Long story short don't rely on them to do anything they say as far as communication or delivery time, and don't expect help if you have a problem. I'd never use this company again.
